The London Knights fell 5-3 to Oshawa Friday night but there was still something to celebrate.
Easton Cowan scored a powerplay goal to extend his streak of consecutive games with a point to 56 unofficially passing Maple Leafs legend Doug Gilmour’s OHL record of 55 games in the 1982-83 season with the Cornwall Royals. Cowan has not been held off the score sheet in a regular season game since November 25th, 2023.
Gilmour’s accomplishment will still be recognized by the OHL as it occurred over one season, and the great Mario Lemieux holds the Canadian Hockey League record at 61 games in 1983-84 with Laval.
