One thing we won’t see anymore on New Year’s Day or the days immediately following is a LOCAL New Year’s BABY!
The Middlesex Hospital Alliance, which includes Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, and Four Counties in Newbury, transitioned away from delivering babies on June 28th of 2024. It’s part of a larger plan which the Alliance says re-envisions women’s health care locally.
Obstetrical deliveries have been transferred to regional partners including London Health Sciences Centre and St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. LHSC’s first baby of the New Year, Mariya Halbouni, was born at 12:05 a.m. on Wednesday weighing in at just over 7 pounds.
