A local vet clinic is doing it’s part to help control the CAT population, barn cats in particular. Dr. Courtney Thomas with the Strathroy Animal Clinic says population control is number one, but there are other reasons they offer barn cat spaying and neutering each year, at a greatly reduced cost.
Dr. Thomas says not only does it help with population control, it helps prevent disease transmission and prevents certain types of cancer. She tells myFM about a program they have to spay and neuter barn cats.
It’s such a popular program, the 35 spots for February 19th are already full but Dr. Courtney says they do this every year.
