On Tuesday, the community gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Nortera’s newly expanded food processing facility in Strathroy. The $25M investment added 100,000 square feet to the existing building, further establishing Strathroy as a key hub for food production and distribution in Southwestern Ontario. The expansion also strengthens the local workforce, supporting 274 jobs at the Strathroy warehouse, which is part of Nortera’s broader team of nearly 1,000 employees across four Ontario facilities.
Mayor Colin Grantham highlighted the significance of the expansion, stating, “This reinvestment in Strathroy-Caradoc demonstrates that we are a great place to do business, with our strategic location offering a distinct advantage in attracting new companies.”
The expansion increased the size of the frozen warehouse facility to nearly 350,000 square feet, reinforcing the company’s presence in the area.
