The federal government’s decision to cap international student enrollment has exposed the chronic underfunding of Ontario’s college sector. Ontario colleges receive just 44% per student compared to the national average. This funding gap is having significant implications for Fanshawe College, advises President Peter Devlin.
Devlin adds Fanshawe is projecting a $35 million deficit this year and a $60 million deficit next year.
