A 15-year-old male is facing multiple weapons-related charges after Ontario Provincial Police responded to a threat at Campbellford District High School.
Northumberland OPP say officers were called to the school around 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of a student making threats and possessing weapons. The school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Police took the youth into custody without incident. No injuries were reported, and investigators say no other suspects are being sought. Officers seized a handgun, ammunition and several edged weapons.
The Havelock teen has been charged with seven Criminal Code offences, including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and uttering threats.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Cobourg at a later date. His identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
