A place with a history worth sharing—King of the Pigs Strathroy celebrated its 10th anniversary this past weekend, with a busy couple of days and a visit from the franchises founders Rui and Chris Viera. myFM stopped in Sunday to chat with Owner Operators Rose Costa and Pierre Gagnon who were very pleased with the milestone.
In 1992, King of the Pigs opened its doors in London, Ontario. The Vieira family took ownership in 2001 and introduced the restaurant beyond the Portuguese community.
In 2009, they expanded by opening a second location in Cherryhill Mall, officially adopting the name King of the Pigs, a title already popular among our customers. Following that, a Strathroy location in 2015. Gagnon wanted to thank all of their supporters and says they focus on a nice family atmosphere for a sit down lunch or dinner.
Gagnon added with three thriving locations, the restaurant has grown from a hidden gem to a well-established culinary staple in Strathroy, London and the surrounding area.
