Not only was this past weekend’s Community Over Cancer event another huge success, part of the evening saw some donations to the campaign to bring a hospice to Strathroy. One of those donations a $25,000 boost from the Strathroy Lions Club and we talked with President Dave Milliken about that who says donations like this do not work without the support the Lions Club gets from the community itself for their own run fundraising events.
Milliken says when this was first discussed with Lions membership, it was a no brainer.
The Lions Club volunteered their bartending skills Saturday and were invited on stage for the presentation which Milliken says was a good opportunity for all supporters and those who support to Lions to see where their money was going.
