Five current and one former Strathroy-Caradoc firefighter were honoured Monday night for their years of service to the community. Fire Chief Brian George presented a Federal Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal to the recipients alongside Mayor Joanne Vanderheyden. George told myFM this recognition exemplifies the dedication made by the six individuals to the department.
The recipients of the medals were Ivan McCallum, now retired, for 50 years of service, Captain Allan Linker, Fred Holdom, and Deputy Chief Joop DeVoest all for 30 years of service, and Deputy District Chief Matthew Stephenson for 20 years of service.
