To help celebrate Canada Day, the Ontario government is inviting everyone to enjoy free fishing from June 28 to July 6. During this special week, all Canadian residents can fish anywhere in Ontario without needing a fishing licence.
This is a great time for families and friends to get outside, spend time together, and enjoy one of Ontario’s most loved outdoor activities. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or trying fishing for the first time, it’s a fun way to experience the province’s beautiful lakes and rivers.
While fishing is free during the week, all regular fishing rules still apply. That means following conservation license limits, size restrictions, and protected areas.
So pack your tackle box, grab a fishing rod, and enjoy the fun of fishing in Ontario this Canada Day week.
