There’s a new tick going around this summer and this one’s carrying a serious bacterial infection. Strathroy Animal Clinic veterinarian Courtney Thomas fills us in.
It’s made its way into southwestern Ontario…so far, found only in one location along Lake Erie.
Symptoms include not eating, a rash and running a fever but it can be treated with the same antibiotic as Lyme disease. Humans can get Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever as well…and just like dogs, it can be serious if not treated.
