Our weekly, ‘Your Money, Your Community’ feature today is with Amanda Barth, a broker with Ontario West Insurance Brokers.
Amanda lives with her family in Strathroy and is marking her 22nd year in the insurance industry. We asked her about home and auto insurance. She says the benefit of working with a broker is that they shop the market for their customers…providing 10-15 different insurance companies so they’ll have lots of options to choose from.
Barth says they pride themselves on service and experience, they don’t base their options strictly on premiums. She says most people they speak with are price-shopping and they’re looking to understand the industry a bit better, understand the coverages they’re investing in and building a rapport with their broker so that from a service standpoint, they feel they’re being taken care of.
Barth believes strongly in volunteering in the community she serves as well. She works with the Rotary Club, Canadian Blood Services, is a representative of the Parent Council at Holy Cross High School and with two boys in hockey, she’s also a volunteer with the Strathroy Minor Hockey Association.
Next year she’ll also take the reins as Vice-Chair of the Strathroy and District Chamber of Commerce, currently serving as a board member.
You can connect with Amanda anytime through email at abarth@owbbib.ca and here is the full interview with Amanda.
