On Wednesday, October 1, Seasons Strathroy Retirement Community marked the International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) with a festive celebration themed “Blue Jeans & Cowboy Dreams.” The event was part of a larger initiative by Seasons Retirement Communities across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia to honour the contributions of older adults and advocate for their rights and well-being.
“Our celebration was a wonderful success,” said Ben Carter, General Manager at Seasons Strathroy. “Residents enjoyed live country music, fair-style games and contests, and a delicious array of classic fair foods. It was a joyful evening that truly captured the warmth and spirit of a Canadian fall.”
In support of this annual celebration, Seasons also launched the social campaign #EverydayisSeniorsDayatSeasons. The initiative highlights the inspiring lives of older adults in their communities, emphasizing that every day is an opportunity to recognize their wisdom, vibrant personalities, and lifelong stories.
