Ontario Provincial Police officers across the province officially launched their annual Festive Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) campaign on Thursday. The initiative, led by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and running through January 1, focuses on both enforcement and education aimed at keeping impaired drivers off the road during the holiday season.
Motorists can expect to encounter RIDE spot checks at various locations and times, as officers work to detect and deter alcohol- and drug-impaired driving. The OPP stresses its ongoing commitment to road safety and urges all Ontarians to help prevent impaired driving by never getting behind the wheel after consuming drugs or alcohol.
