Fifty-three motorists are now facing criminal impaired driving charges as one week is complete in the 2025 OPP Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign continues throughout West Region. OPP detachments across the region have conducted 534 RIDE checks so far, resulting in 53 impaired driving charges and eight warn-range licence suspensions.
Provincewide, officers have carried out 1,804 RIDE checks since the campaign launched, laying 229 impaired driving charges and issuing 23 warn-range suspensions in OPP-patrolled areas.

The annual Festive RIDE initiative focuses on enforcement and education aimed at removing impaired drivers during the holiday season. This year’s campaign runs from November 20, 2025, to January 1, 2026, with officers conducting RIDE checks around the clock on roads and highways across West Region.
