As myFM reported to you earlier this week, Sue Clarke, Mayor of Adelaide Metcalfe, was elected Warden for the 2025–2026 term at the most recent County council meeting. myFM was able to talk to the new Warden this week who was somewhat taken back.
Clarke, who began her political career as an Adelaide Metcalfe councillor in 2018 before being elected mayor, has built a reputation for steady leadership and strong community engagement.
Clarke ran against Southwest Middlesex Mayor Allen Mayhew, and Strathroy-Caradoc Deputy Mayor Mike McGuire.
She says a decision to do something like this does not come without support from your team municipally.
Warden Clarke made sue we knew what her focus was moving forward.
She adds moving forward there are some good things happening in the county.
The role of Deputy Warden is filled by the most recent Past Warden who remains on Council which will be North Middlesex Mayor Brian Ropp. This marks Clarke’s first term as Warden while she continues her inaugural term as Mayor of Adelaide Metcalfe.
