The province continues to push ahead with its plan to merge conservation authorities across Ontario, despite many concerns, including in our region.
Ken Phillips is the General Manager of the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority here in Strathroy and tells myFM one more big step was taken recently.
Phillips explains what will happen locally.
Phillips says they’ve been told jobs and local offices are safe, but he’s not so sure.
He explains their biggest concern.
Of course, conservation authorities are front and centre when it comes to issues like flood prevention and environmental protections but those don’t seem to be priorities.
Understandably, Phillips says his staff are worried.
myFM will keep in touch with our local conservation authority through this process to keep you up to date.
