Seasons Strathroy Retirement Community was full of holiday spirit as residents, their families, and staff came together for its annual Holiday Food Drive. The drive, which ran from December 1 to 14, collected donations for the Ailsa Craig and Area Food Bank, helping local families in need.
Canada has seen a growing need for food banks. In March 2025, nearly 2.2 million visits were recorded, the highest ever. This is a 5.2% increase from the previous year and almost double compared to March 2019. Seniors aged 65 and older now make up 8.3% of food bank users.
Seasons Retirement Communities across Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario also hosted their annual ‘One Can Make a Difference Challenge’ earlier this year. Since 2016, Seasons has partnered with Food Banks Canada, contributing over $350,000 in food, funds, and thousands of canned goods to help fight food insecurity.
The holiday food drive at Seasons Strathroy highlights the community’s generosity and commitment to helping those in need.
