OPP say the 2025 Festive RIDE campaign is having a strong impact as it continues through the holiday season.
After four weeks, West Region OPP officers have laid more than 180 impaired driving charges. Police have also issued 27 warn-range suspensions. Officers have held more than 2,000 RIDE check events across 13 West Region detachments so far.
Across Ontario, OPP officers have laid more than 830 impaired driving charges and issued 92 warn-range suspensions during nearly 7,300 RIDE checks in OPP-patrolled areas.
The Festive RIDE campaign runs from November 20th, until January 1st 2026. During this time, drivers can expect to see an increased police presence on roads and highways, with RIDE programs operating day and night.
OPP say the goal of the campaign is to keep roads safe by removing impaired drivers and reminding people to make responsible choices. Police encourage anyone who suspects impaired driving to call 9-1-1 right away.
