Warwick Council approved the Township’s 2026 Budget at its regular Council meeting held on Wednesday, January 22, 2026. As a result, property owners will see a 4 per cent increase to the municipal portion of their property taxes, equal to $27.90 per $100,000 of residential assessment. This increase is expected to generate approximately $137,000 in additional municipal revenue.
The approved capital budget totals $4,886,650 and places a strong emphasis on critical infrastructure investments. Key projects include the Churchill Line Reconstruction, redevelopment of the Nauvoo Road and Confederation Line intersection, and the Brown/Jarriott South Branch Outlet Rehabilitation Project. Additional capital investments include the installation of a new accessible playground at Centennial Park, upgraded lighting, concrete poles, and protective netting at the Watford Ball Diamond, as well as improvements to the Watford Fire Station.
Mayor Case noted that Council was pleased to approve the 2026 Budget, which supports essential projects throughout the Township while maintaining a strong focus on responsible financial management.
The Township’s operating budget for 2026 is set at $9.67 million. To address the operating budget funding shortfall, Council approved drawing approximately $128,000 from municipal reserves, alongside the 4 per cent tax increase.
The final copy of the approved 2026 budget is available on the Township’s website at Township of Warwick.
Mayor Case stated “The approval of the 2026 budget marks an important step forward for our community. This budget reflects Council’s commitment to maintaining essential services, supporting future growth, and recognizing the efforts of staff in securing grant funding to help deliver value for residents. Council looks forward to continuing the positive work already underway and building on the strong foundation in place.”
