The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service is seeing an increase in fraudulent Canadian $100 bills circulating in our community. Before accepting cash, take a moment to check your bills, it could save you from a costly loss. Police say look for a transparent window, a clear section in the bill with metallic images, it should be smooth, not cloudy or frosted. Also tilt the bill, you should see the portrait, the number “100”, and feel the large number and text because genuine bills have a slightly raised texture. Finally, fake bills often look blurry or washed out, look through the transparent window, small numbers should be visible.
