Jake Ritson of the Strathroy Rockets has been named the R.J. Noble Memorial Award winner as the GOHL Rookie of the Year.
The Thunder Bay native led all league rookies with 72 points this season, ranking fifth all-time for a rookie in GOHL history. He also recorded 48 assists, tying for the second-most by a rookie in league history.
Ritson was named to the Western Conference All-Rookie team and earned GOHL Rookie of the Month honors twice, in November and January.
In his first season, Ritson tied a franchise record with five assists in a win over St. Thomas on January 24th. His strong performance helped make him one of the league’s top young stars.
