The Strathroy and District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to see a few of the measures in the Ontario budget, handed down earlier this week, especially when it comes to help spurring on new housing and for small businesses. Executive Director Donna Pammer tells myFM about one highlight for her.
Pammer points out its only incorporated businesses who will benefit from the tax cut, which she feels is a bit disappointing.
But she highlights some benefits for those unincorporated small businesses.
New home building was also a focus for the Ford government.
Pammer is also pleased that Ontario will temporarily remove the full 13% HST on new homes for one year.
The province projects a $13.8 Billion deficit for 2026–27, which the Finance Minister says has to do with economic uncertainty.
