A 6-unit multi-plex is a step closer to reality at the corner of Front Street East and Metcalfe, across from the new Salvation Army building in Strathroy.
Town council approved a zoning bylaw amendment Tuesday night for the property at 295-97 Metcalfe Street East, despite numerous objections from neighbours including Wilson Brock, the President of the nearby Bear Creek Condo Association.
The major concerns of neighbours include safety, especially at the busy intersection, access, parking, water and drainage.
That’s resident Ken Dunsmore. Frank Kovacs lives right beside the property in question.
Councillor Steve Pelkman took time to explain that council’s hands are tied, due to provincial legislation mandating intensification.
Jennifer Gillis also lives in the area and had this to say following Pelkman’s comments.
Now that the location has been approved, the next stages of the detailed design will begin likely taking into account some of the resident’s concerns.
