A Strathroy man has been handed a fine and a driving ban after admitting to impaired driving charges in a Bracebridge courtroom. A 30-year-old from Strathroy pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit stemming from a concerned motorist report back on November 24th, 2025 on Highway 11 near Bracebridge.
According to the report, the vehicle was fluctuating in speed, veering onto the shoulder, and at one point nearly rear-ending another car. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop, where they saw empty beer cans inside. Further testing revealed the driver had a blood alcohol level more than double the legal limit. He was ultimately fined $2,000 and prohibited from driving for one year.
