A Special Weather Statement has been issued by Environment Canada for Strathroy, Komoka, and western Middlesex County, warning of more heavy rain through Thursday.
Officials say an additional 20 to 50 millimetres of rain is expected. With the ground already soaked from recent rainfall, it cannot absorb much more water, increasing the risk of pooling and localized flooding.
More rounds of showers and possible thunderstorms are expected over the next couple of days. Rainfall amounts may vary across the region, and rainfall warnings could be issued if conditions worsen.
Drivers are being reminded to avoid flooded roads and stay away from low-lying areas where water can quickly collect.
