There were a lot of questions raised last week when two girls had to be retrieved from the top of one of the old flour mill buildings by the Strathroy Fire Department, including who’s responsible for the buildings.
While many were calling for town council to do anything from secure the buildings to knock them down, Director of Community Services Rob Lilbourne says they really can’t do much.
Lilbourne says following the events of last week, town staff do expect to contact the owners of the building even though it is considered “secure.”
We asked Lilbourne what staff might be bringing up with the owners.
Strathroy-Caradoc Police say the two girls were dealt with under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Trespass to Property Act.
