With warmer weather arriving, drivers are being reminded to watch for more farm equipment on local roads as farmers move between fields.
OPP remind motorists to be patient and share the road safely with slow-moving vehicles.
Ward 2 Councillor and farmer Brian Derbyshire also made sure to highlight this important issue at council this week.
Farm equipment often travels around 35 km/h and is marked with an orange slow-moving vehicle sign. Drivers are asked to slow down, stay alert, and be ready to stop when needed.
Police say it is important to watch carefully for turns, as some tractors use hand signals. Farm equipment can’t always pull over safely, so patience is important when sharing the road.
