The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service says it continues to take a zero-tolerance approach to violence in local schools following an incident at a local high school last month. Police say the incident happened on April 22nd and involved several students. Officers were notified the following day after two students suffered serious injuries.
After investigating, police identified multiple students who were involved. Two male youths have been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm. A third male youth was dealt with through extrajudicial measures for causing a disturbance.
SCPS Constable, Katherine Lockwood says police will continue working closely with local high schools to help keep students safe.
Lockwood says thankfully, this situation was a one-off.
The school involved has taken administrative action, including suspensions for students connected to the incident. The police service is reminding parents, students, and community members about the importance of respectful behaviour and reporting concerns to help prevent similar situations in the future.
