SCPS Constable Katherine Lockwood, says the Youth Summer Insight Program (YSIP), will give students a behind-the-scenes look at police work during July and August.
The program is open to Grade 11 and 12 students who attend Strathroy District Collegiate Institute or Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School, or students who live in Strathroy-Caradoc. Lockwood told myFM about the commitment needed from students who are interested.
Applications, resumes, and cover letters must be submitted by May 24th at noon. Students can apply in person at the police station, online, or by email. Lockwood says the program is a great opportunity for students to learn what policing is really like.
She adds that this a chance for students to earn their volunteer hours.
Applications are available at both local high schools and the police station. Deadline is this Sunday to register.
