Strathroy-Caradoc police have charged a parent with letting their kid, who isn’t 16 yet, ride an e-bike. It stems from an incident April 22nd at Caradoc and Erie Streets (near Roy’s Coffee Shop) where a vehicle struck an e-bike with two people on it. Both were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation has led to a 40 year old parent being charged with permitting a person under 16 to be on a power-assisted bicycle and a 25 year old man being charged with failing to yield from a private driveway. A public information session on e-bikes and e-scooters will be held June 24th at the Strathroy Library to help people better understand the rules from 6:30-7:30.
