The Middlesex-London Health Unit says a good news story has been emerging over the past few years with regards to children’s vaccination stats locally. Medical Officer of Health Dr. Alex Summers tells myFM it was rough going in Covid times.
Dr. Summers says they’ve been working hard to get those numbers improved, and it’s been paying off in spades.
Four or five times a year, the health unit reaches out to parents and caregivers of children who have not met the vaccination requirements and suspension from school is a possibility. Dr. Summers says it’s usually just a matter of needing to submit documents to the health unit, and one of those periods has just wrapped up.
