In a recent social media announcement, the library said all existing overdue fines on patron accounts will be cleared, and overdue fines will no longer be charged on library materials moving forward. However, replacement fees will still apply for items that are lost, not returned, or damaged.
The library is also introducing several other changes beginning June 22nd. The hold pickup period for all items will be reduced to five open days.
When renewing a library card or registering for a new one, patrons will be asked to provide their birthdate. Library staff may also ask users to verify their address to ensure account information transferred correctly during the migration process.
The library also announced that the MyLibrary app will no longer be available. A new library app is expected to launch soon, with more details to be released in the coming weeks.
Library officials thanked patrons for their patience and understanding as the transition to the new system continues.
