Strathroy’s Hometown Festival is gearing up for a busy weekend, with organizers saying this year’s event will be bigger than ever when it officially kicks off Friday at 4 p.m.
myFM caught up with Chairperson Richard McCammon this afternoon (Thursday).
He says more than 30 vendors will also be on site, along with a wide selection of food trucks and live entertainment throughout the weekend.
McCammon says music fans can look forward to a full lineup of performances, with country and rock shows planned over the weekend.
He adds that weather conditions are looking positive, with cooler temperatures, light winds, and a mix of sun and cloud expected after recent rain.
McCammon is reminding residents that the Hometown Festival Midway does not open until 4 p.m.
McCammon says there are no age restrictions for most of the festival, but some rides will have height requirements for safety. He adds that the licensed area will be 18-plus after 7 p.m., in line with regulations.
He is also reminding visitors that this is not a “bring your own alcohol” event, noting that beverages must be purchased on site.
With rides, music, food, and entertainment all coming together, McCammon say this year’s Hometown Festival is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet.
