As more people turn to e-bikes and e-scooters this summer, the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service is reminding riders to know the rules before heading out.
Constable Katherine Lockwood says rules must be followed.
Lockwood says they can be very fun and safe as long as they are opperated in a responsible way.
Lockwood says while collisions involving e-bikes and e-scooters have not been common in Strathroy-Caradoc, parents could face charges if a child under the legal age is found riding one.
She also reminds riders that impaired driving laws apply to e-bikes and e-scooters, meaning they should never be operated while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Police are encouraging everyone using e-bikes and e-scooters this summer to wear a helmet, obey speed limits, follow the rules of the road, and ride safely to help prevent injuries and collisions.
