Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Strathroy, Komoka, Western Middlesex County.
Forecasters say conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and into the early evening.
The storms could bring wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour and localized rainfall of up to 60 millimetres, especially in areas that are hit by more than one storm.
Environment Canada says the strong winds could damage roofs, fences, tree branches, and temporary shelters. Heavy rain may also lead to flash flooding and reduced visibility on roads.
Residents are reminded to head indoors when thunder is heard, avoid driving through flooded roads, and secure any loose outdoor items before the storms arrive.
