The Middlesex Hospital Alliance is thanking staff after a recent Code Orange brought a sudden increase in patients needing emergency care to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.
A Code Orange is called when an unexpected event causes a large number of patients to arrive at the hospital at the same time, requiring extra staff and resources.
Hospital officials say the Emergency Department was already very busy when the Code Orange was declared. Staff from across the organization quickly volunteered to come in and help.
The Middlesex Hospital Alliance says the teamwork and dedication shown by employees helped ensure patients continued to receive safe, high-quality care.
Hospital leaders are thanking everyone who came in, stayed late, took on extra duties, or supported their coworkers during the emergency. They say they are proud of the compassion and commitment shown by their team.
