It’s been confirmed that the two new stores that are coming to Strathroy out near Walmart are Marshalls and Fresh-Co.
Deputy Mayor Mike McGuire confirmed to myFM this morning (Thursday) that work has begun on a Marshalls Department Store, similar to a Winners and a FreshCo Grocery Store, which will both be built on a large parcel of land between Canadian Tire and Walmart out at the Strathroy Crossing Plaza.
Work has begun on clearing the site.
McGuire says it’s exciting news.
A few months ago, Strathroy-Caradoc Council approved minor changes to the property to allow the development to move ahead.
McGuire says the new stores will bring more shopping options to a growing part of the community and help create a more walkable neighbourhood for nearby residents.
