The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service has wrapped up its first Youth Summer Insight Program, giving local youth interested in a career in policing a unique behind-the-scenes look at the profession.
Over the past eight weeks, participants had the opportunity to learn about policing, explore the many different roles within the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service, and receive mentorship from members.
The students worked hard, asked questions, developed new skills and challenged themselves throughout the program, gaining valuable experiences they can carry with them into the future.
Participants also had the opportunity to volunteer alongside SCPS members at community events, allowing them to give back to the community they call home.
The police service says the inaugural YSIP provided participants with an opportunity to learn, grow and gain a better understanding of what a career in policing can offer.
