Garrett Kingma is running for re-election to council in Adelaide Metcalfe Township this fall. Kingma tells us he wants to be returned to council to continue being a voice for the electorate and push forward on what he calls key priorities.
Looking back at previous accomplishments, Kingma says without a doubt, how the township dealt with wind power stands out.
Kingma also reflects on what he considers to be one of council’s shortcomings – what he describes as the Township’s apparent inability to block an unwanted bio-solids storage facility in the south end of the municipality.
Kingma says if the facility doesn’t measure up there could be a lot of off-site impacts like odour and dust, something he says the township can’t abide by. If relected October 26th, Kingma says he’s certain one of council’s priorities will be responding to the public’s desire for fiscal discipline.
Kingma notes while voters expect a lot from their council – they have a duty to be informed before casting their ballot.
On the matter of why voters should re-elect Kingma to another term on council, the incumbent / candidate says it comes down to his passion for the work.
Final thoughts ….
Kingma urges voters to think beyond election day because the real work begins after they’ve made their selection at the ballot box.
Kingma says anytime someone wishes to speak to him about council business he’s more than ready to listen and offer their concerns to his colleagues so that council can address them.
