As many communities get together this weekend for Terry Fox Runs, Strathroy won’t be one of them. There hasn’t been a Terry Fox Run in Strathroy since 2017, although there were virtual ones in 2020 and 2021, during Covid.
The Community Director for Ontario for the Terry Fox Foundation, Kim Smith tells myFM runs are 100% organized by volunteers and, without them, there is no event. Smith says funds are still raised in Strathroy online but the local runs won’t happen again until volunteers step up to make them a reality again.
