The closure of the Senior’s Centre in Strathroy still rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but town hall is slowly working towards getting some senior and other community programming back into the facility.
They’ve launched a pilot project for those 55+ called Active Days, with most programs in Mount Brydges.
Julia Kitchen is the Seniors Recreation Program Coordinator for Strathroy-Caradoc and tells myFM they kick everything off with an open house on October 1st
Some of the programs in Mount Brydges started last week, including their nature walks and Kitchen reminds seniors there are programs for them in Strathroy too, including yoga, euchre, tai chi, and fitness classes.
She tells myFM while most of these new programs take place in Mount Brydges, the old senior’s centre could factor in down the road.
Find out lots more on the town’s website.
