The Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department is inviting residents to its Fire Prevention Open House and Recruitment Event this Sunday, October 4.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Melbourne Fire Station, located at 21912 Melbourne Road.
Residents will have an opportunity to meet local firefighters, tour the fire trucks and learn more about fire safety and prevention. The open house will also include information on home escape planning, smoke alarm education and family-friendly activities.
Those attending can also learn more about becoming a volunteer firefighter with the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department.
The department says the event is a chance for residents to learn how to better protect their families, homes and community.
