A night of laughs is coming to Strathroy to help support local youth and the programs they rely on.
37 Frank Youth Centre is hosting a comedy fundraiser on Saturday, November 14th, at Community Christian School on Walker’s Drive.
Dave Berdan, director of 37 Frank Youth Centre, says the show will feature a group of comedians performing funny improv skits, with plenty of surprises along the way.
The second half of the show will feature a special challenge for Berdan himself. Blindfolded and without shoes, he will have to make his way across a line of live mousetraps as part of a comedy skit.
Berdan says he is a little nervous about the challenge, but he is willing to take part to help raise money for local youth.
Tickets cost $20, and snacks will be available during the break. The show is family-friendly, so people can bring their children along for a fun night out.
All money raised will be going back to the centre.
Berdan says the need for these services continues, and community support helps the centre keep providing care to local youth.
Tickets can be purchased online through yfcstrathroy.com by visiting the Fidgets section or selecting the donate option. Some tickets may also be available at the door, but people are encouraged to buy them in advance. Mousetraps can also be purchased through the same online options or during the show’s intermission.
The centre is also looking for volunteers to help support its work. Anyone interested can call the centre or stop by 37 Frank Street, across from the library, to learn more.
