Ward 1 councillor Steve Pelkman was the top vote-getter among all Strathroy-Caradoc councillors in the municipal election. He received 32-hundred votes, with the next closest being councillor Donna Pammer with 2726 votes.
Pelkman was beaming when we chatted with him Monday night.
We asked Pelkman if he thinks his vast municipal experience makes a big difference in the amount of support he gets.
He’ll be joined on council by another man who’s had a lot of experience on Strathroy-Caradoc council, former Deputy Mayor Brad Richards, who we heard from yesterday.
Pelkman says there were times in the last session of council he felt the need to speak up.
Former Goderich Mayor Kevin Morrison rounds out the four Ward 1 councillors while Sandi Hipple, Sheri Faccenda and Greg Willsie will represent Ward 2.
