Home sales across the London and St. Thomas region have slowed compared with a year ago, as uncertainty continues to influence decisions by potential buyers and sellers.
New figures from the London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® show 557 homes changed hands in October through the Multiple Listing Service.
That’s a 7.5 per cent decrease compared with October 2025, although sales remained relatively consistent with September, when 561 properties were sold.
The average selling price across the region also edged lower, coming in at $601,289 in October, compared with $611,509 the previous month.
The sales-to-new-listings ratio increased to 39 per cent, up from 34.7 per cent in September. However, that remains below the 45 to 65 per cent range generally associated with a balanced housing market.
The figures suggest buyers continue to have some negotiating power, with market conditions still leaning in their favour.
There were also differences in average selling prices across the region. London recorded an average of $596,951, while St. Thomas came in at $513,697. Strathroy-Caradoc’s average was $569,023.
Despite the year-over-year decline in sales, the latest numbers suggest the regional housing market continues to see activity, although buyers and sellers are approaching decisions with greater caution.
