Following changes coming down the pipeline earlier this year from Middlesex County, its eight municipalities have assumed fire inspection services responsibilities. As a response, Strathroy-Caradoc has given Fire Chief Brian George the green light to hire a full-time Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention and Training, with hopes that person joins the rank by the new year. George spoke to myFM about what a qualified candidate would look like.
George says in a report half of the Deputy Chief’s responsibilities would be for prevention and inspection, a slim part would be administration and a bulk of it would be training. The temporary fire inspector remains with the municipality until the end of this year.
