The room was buzzing for the entirety of the brief Strathroy-Caradoc council meeting last night. That’s because it started off with a performance by Company members of Youth Performing Arts in Strathroy who sang the national anthem, which lead into an expression of thanks given by Pastor Peter Hoytema. After that came the swearing in ceremonies where new and returning councilors were officially affirmed. Then each councilor had the chance to make their opening remarks, each pouring out positivity and optimism. Town CAO Greg McClinchey said the goal for the new government is to continue where the previous one left off.
He said from the municipality’s staff point, their role during the transition from previous to current council was to make sure everyone is on track to make an immediate impact.
