VON CHEQUE PRESENTATION
The VON Middlesex-Elgin was awarded a cheque this morning from 7 area Lions Clubs for $3270. The Zone 24 South Lions Clubs of District A-1 chose VON Middlesex-Elgin as their Zone project of choice for 2012 and Zone Chairman Grant Oliver says the VON was the right choice.

POLICE CONSTABLE HONORED FOR SERVICE
He has spent the last 14 years in Strathroy and 6 prior years in London all while serving and protecting the community. Strathroy-Caradoc Police Constable Steve Pommer was honored Thursday afternoon for 20 years of service with a medal and commemoration.

Canadian Blood Services honored all their volunteers, donors and community partners Wednesday at their annual Honoring Our Lifeblood Awards Banquet in London. myFM Strathroy was one of those honored for the support and awareness it provides to the Canadian Blood Services and local clinics.

CONSERVATION CLEAN UP DAY GOES GREAT
Area parks and streets were a little cleaner in Strathroy thanks to Thursday's 16th annual Conservation Clean-Up day. Hundreds of students representing three area schools convened in Alexandra Park after a morning of cleaning up the town.

LIBRARY CLOSING FOR PREPERATION
Just around the corner is the grand re-opening of the Strathroy Library slated for Saturday May 26th. To prepare for this, staff will have to shutdown the facility this week. Supervisor Aimee Sparzynski says the closure will last just over a week.
