Structure fires tend to happen more often in the Spring and Summer months. With this in my mind myFM recently spoke with Fire Prevention Officer Scott Pipe on some of the ways we can avoid becoming a statistic. Pipe tells myFM almost one third of all fires in the home are cooking related.

MUNICIPALITY CONTINUES RE-BRANDING

The municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is combing over statistics and trends as they continue with their branding initiatives. To expand the town's brand they plan to add more trail signage, 402 off ramp signs and additional signage in Mount Brydges with the Lions Club.

NO FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED FOLLOWING DISCOVERY OF BODY

Middlesex County OPP say no foul play is suspected following the discovery of a body Thursday afternoon. Property owners located the body in a wooded area next to a cornfield, on Longwoods Road west of Haggerty Road around 2:15pm.

The case for a 29-year-old Strathroy man has been put off until May 22nd. Jeffrey Day is facing charges in connection with a car crash last summer that claimed the life of his 27-year-old sister.
